I Tried To Be The Biggest Loser

I got hooked on reality competition shows a long time ago. Every show brings with it a sense of renewed anticipation within me. The best part about them is that there are many different kinds of shows to enjoy. For a few years one of my favorites has been The Biggest Loser. For some reason I keep tuning in and it is hard to pinpoint exactly why, I can name some of the things that draw me to it.

The show seems like it is about people like me. I also struggle with my weight at times. I would not consider myself to be dangerously obese like some of the people on the show, although some weight loss would benefit me. It is not the same as when I was younger though. Think that by tuning into the show every week, I have found a desire to do what I need to do. I do not want to be faced with the problems that come with the excess fat on the body. I do not want to put my health at risk because of my lifestyle, but I also did not want to go find a way to learn how to lose weight fast if there was something better that I could do, and the things that I saw on the Biggest Loser looked like a healthier way for me to get into shape, but the problem I faced was actually doing what I was supposed to do.

One thing that interests me is the people who are on the show and what got them there. The contestants are very familiar to me. They just struggled with their weight. They had regular jobs and families just like me. Maybe, I thought, I could be a contestant. I went as far as going online to the shows website. I looked into how to become a contestant. That is where I stopped. To lose enough weight to win would not ever be possible because I was not carrying that much extra weight to start. Rather than depending on a reality show, I would have to depend on myself.

That was when I decided that I would be my own Biggest Loser. One night after watching a bunch of television I decided to find a way to get my body into the shape it was supposed to be in and I knew that the answer was not in the infomercial that was airing that promised to help a person find a way how to lose weight fast at home in a week, but rather would require me to make the effort to eat right and exercise regularly if I was to really get into shape. It did not take long for me to find a bunch of ways to get myself to a healthy weight.

I went to the bookstore and found some reference materials to help guide me through my journey. A medical professional was the next place that I turned to for advice on what to do. I also had to figure out how to get some physical activity. I had never worked out before. Rather than doing it wrong, I enlisted the help of a personal trainer at the nearby health spa. The personal trainer was able to guide me through a program that were based on the goals that he helped me set.

With diet and exercise plan in hand I went to work. I do not think I had double digit weight losses like I saw on the Biggest Loser. The key was that I was succeeding at all. One pound at a time I was getting into shape. By eating healthy foods, I was not as run down as I used to be at the end of the day. My physical activity became less of a chore and more of something I was looking forward to.
