At some point or another, everyone have thought about which cardio exercise would be better. Put simply, body fat is burnt off by exercises, whether they are of low or high intensity. The question here is which is the most effective to burn off more body fat.
Carbohydrates, scientifically called glycogen, stored in liver and muscles for energy are burnt during intensive exercises was discovered by scientists. You will be able to burn a lot of body fat during low intensity exercises.
This does not work and one can say that because many obese people are seen around us. Even though they are working out with low intensity routines, it still makes you wonder how it can be.
According to the scientists the rate of burning body fat by human beings is more during low intensity exercises such as swimming or walking. The body uses up more calories when you perform high intensity exercises like running. Even if some of the calories burnt are from glycogen, there are still many fat calories burned as well.
To put the icing on the cake, when your store of glycogen gets low, the carbohydrates from your food you eat will later get converted into glycogen to fill up the store and won’t be converted to body fat when they are left unused for energy.
Even after your workout, high intensity cardio exercise will speed your metabolism, making you burn more fat throughout the day. What this means, is that your body will continue to burn body fat hours after you have left the gym. The Effect in the low intensity cardio or aerobic workouts,is nearly non-existent.
On average your body will use up more calories from high intensity cardio workouts than low intensity ones.
You can inject high intensity exercises into your cardio workout by introducing some interval training. You can walk for 5 minutes or so, then break into some jogging for another 5 minutes or so. Then, walk briskly again until you have caught your breath and then sprint for a minute before you walk again. Now, just switch off between running and walking for the remaining 15 minutes until you are done.
One of the best things about cardio is the more you do it, the more energy you’ll have. Cardio will help you to burn calories, although its more useful for keeping your energy levels high.
Those who have yet to try cardio really should try it soon! If you enjoy exercise, you’ll see that cardio is the best choice for keeping in shape and increasing your energy. You will want to keep your cardio exercise easy if you are just beginning; slow and easy so you don’t get over exerted.
