If you have decided on a manufactured home, you have probably done some research online. These houses can be a great way to get a new home without going through the hassle of building one from scratch.

First you should check building codes in your area to see what is needed and allowing you’ll need to get to locate a home in the place of their choice. You also want to check the covenants of the subdivision to ensure that there are no special rules regarding the type of manufactured homes or modular housing can be placed. Often the upper subdivisions require a minimum square meters, or a minimum roof pitch, or the minimum number of seats in the garage in order to maintain the value of the property sub-division above.

Once you’ve determined your needs, you must decide what you would like a foundation – you need a basement, crawlspace or concrete slab? This is sometimes dictated by the covenants, but often you will coordinate with the builder of manufactured homes to determine the basis is good for you. This will make the installation of prefabricated houses lot easier when you know in advance.
